The second wave of COVID-19 took a massive toll on people across the country. Amid the uncertainties, many celebrities stepped in to help the ones in need, Jacqueline was one of them who started her own foundation by the name of You Only Live Once (YOLO). The actress was on the go doing humanitarian work and giving back to society selflessly. The need of the hour was for covid relief and Jacqueline along with her foundation team distributed one lakh meals a month, fed stray animals, and distributed masks and sanitisers to the Mumbai Police.
In addition to that, Jacqueline, along with YOLO, also distributed raincoats to the Mumbai Police and Pune Police. She says, “I am so glad to have contributed to the well-being of a few people, if not many, in my own small way. Seeing the needy helpless, strays in distress and our nation going through this pandemic was a wake-up call for me personally. I felt the urge to help people with basic necessities and that is what I did. It has been a fulfilling experience to serve society with whatever was in my capacity. I hope to continue doing so in the future as well.”
Last month, post the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Jacqueline and her team organised beach clean-up sessions in Mumbai. The actress also celebrated Ganeshotsav with members of the Kinnar Trust. Her foundation’s social media handles serve as a medium for people working towards the betterment of society to reach out to those in need.
Through her Foundation, she also extended help to individuals and organisations working towards COVID relief and donated funds for the procurement of oxygen cylinders. The actress also organised food donation drives outside KEM Hospital in association with Roti Bank Foundation. Jacqueline, along with members of her foundation, aims at building a kindness brigade that spread kindness in the community amidst difficult times.
A wondrous personality, serving society in times of need – Jacqueline Fernandez surely has so much more to offer apart from her films.
